YouthBuild KCK

In YouthBuild programs, low-income young people receive education, job skills, personal development opportunities, leadership skills, and a chance to focus their lives in a positive direction. The Youthbuild program provides wrap-around services that support a young person’s growth and development into an active community leader.
We provide a certification from the National Center for Construction Education and Research, access to GED programs and supports, quarter-time AmeriCorps enrollment with an education fund stipend upon completion, access to a mentoring community, interview skills, financial literacy skills, and more, for young people aged 16-25 who don’t fit into conventional educational institutions.
IN ORDER TO JOIN YOUTHBUILD PROGRAM, YOU MUST:
  • Be 16-25 with no high school diploma
  • In need of workplace skills (unemployed/underemployed)
  • Live in Wyandotte County
  • Have your birth certificate, state ID, and social security card
  • A strong desire to improve yourself and become a community leader
